Kremlin-backed authorities in occupied Abkhazia have reported 172 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the region’s tally of total confirmed cases to 22,083. In the meantime, 361 patients have recovered, taking the number of overall recoveries to 17,806. The number of fatalities remains at 307.

According to NCDC Georgia, 481,591 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine since the rollout in mid-March. In the meantime, 157,754 have been fully vaccinated.

The Lithuanian donation of 15,000 AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19 have arrived in Tbilisi. Lithuanian authorities unveiled their decision to donate vaccines to EU Eastern Partners, including Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in May. Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani thanked his Lithuanian colleague Gabrielius Landsbergis “for firm support and timely aid.”
