Chairperson of Abkhaz Supreme Court Resigns

Chairperson of the Supreme Court of unrecognized Abkhaz Republic Alla Avidzba filed his resignation on October 18, citing the ?difficult political situation? in Abkhazia, report the Itar-Tass and RIA Novosti news agencies.

The Supreme Court have scheduled their discussion of the appeal by pro-governmental presidential candidate Raul Khajimba on October 19. Khajimba demands the cancellation of the October 11 decision by the Abkhaz Central Election Commission which declared opposition candidate Sergey Bagapsh as the president-elect.
