Georgia Wants NATO’s Office in Tbilisi

Georgian Defense Minister Giorgi Baramidze told RFE/RL Georgian service speaking from Brussels on June 18, that Georgia seeks for opening NATO’s representation in South Caucasus in the Georgian capital Tbilisi.


He said that opening of NATO’s office will foster coordination of cooperation between the alliance and South Caucasus countries, particular with Georgia.


Georgian Defense Minister denied as “absurd and groundless” reports of the Russian media sources that Georgia allegedly proposed NATO to deploy its bases in Georgia.
