Georgian Leaders Offer Condolences over Queen Elizabeth II’s Passing

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili offered their condolences to the Royal Family and the United Kingdom for the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September, after 70 years of rule as monarch.

President Zurabishvili wrote that the Queen “lived a life of dedication to her people, her nation, and the Commonwealth.”

“A model of determination and dedication to the values of democracy and dignity, earning her a unique place in history,” the President emphasized. “My thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family.”

The PM stated, “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the UK government, and the people of the UK.”

“Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II was a leader who led the nation throughout the decades, being respected, adored, and will be well-remembered by the generations ahead,” PM Garibashvili underscored.

Speaker Papuashvili also offered his “heartfelt condolences” to the Royal Family and the UK on the Queen’s passing. “She was an extraordinary personality and leader who reigned and shaped history for over 70 years. Her legacy will define many more decades to come,” he underlined.
