Additional Evidence of Sanaia’s Murder Case – Internal Affairs Minister States
(Tbilisi. December 6. Civil Georgia) – The handgun journalist Giorgi Sanaia was murdered from is found, Internal Affairs Minister Koba Narchemashvili stated today on the special press conference.
“Suspect Grigol Khurtsilava showed us the place where he hid a handgun from which Sanaia was shot,” Koba Narchemashvili announced.
General Prosecutor Nugzar Gabrichidze stated that besides the handgun police found keys of Giorgi Sanaia’s flat, which were lost after the murder. Law enforcers say that suspect threw the keys away together with a cartridge.
The Internal Affairs Minister and the General Prosecutor made no answer on the question about why the suspect did not leave his living place and hide away and why he decided to keep the handgun as well as the cartridge and the keys.
Grigol Khurtsilava was arrested on December 5 in Tbilisi. He is a former Internal Affairs Ministry employee.
Journalist Giorgi Sanaia was found dead in his own apartment in the evening on July 26.
