Georgian Healthcare Minister to Visit Ukraine

Georgian Healthcare Minister, Davit Sergeenko, said he will arrive in Ukraine on August 27 for what he called is a “needs assessment mission” to determine what kind of humanitarian assistance to provide to Ukraine amid military hostilities in the east of the country.

Sergeenko, who spoke by phone with his Ukrainian counterpart last week, said on August 25 that Tbilisi is ready to send doctors to Ukraine for a humanitarian mission, provide medicines or to bring Ukrainian patients wounded as a result of military hostilities to Georgia for medical treatment.

“Tomorrow morning we are in Kiev and starting to work,” Sergeenko told PM Irakli Garibashvili at a government session on Tuesday.

“Very good. It will be good if we provide humanitarian assistance to our Ukrainian friends,” the PM responded.

Finance Minister, Nodar Khaduri, told the PM at the same government session that a delegation from the Ukrainian finance ministry and revenue service will be visiting Georgia this week to look into Georgia’s experience.

“Render maximum assistance,” PM Garibashvili told the Finance Minister.
