Russian Diplomat Meets Georgian, S.Ossetian Negotiators
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin held separate talks with Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Merab Antadze and breakaway South Ossetian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Chochiev in Moscow on August 19.
The Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflicts, as well as issues of Russian-Georgian relations, were discussed during the meeting with Merab Antadze, according to the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the discussion with Boris Chochiev mainly focused on the results of the Joint Control Commission session over South Ossetia, held in Moscow on August 17-18.
The separate talks with the Georgian and South Ossetian negotiators came after a failure to reach an agreement on ?key issues? during a session of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC), which was held in Moscow on August 17-18.
