Bush to Meet Leadership, Deliver Public Speech

Ordinary citizens began gathering on Freedom Square early morning on May 10 in anticipation of visiting U.S. President George W. Bush’s public speech, which will occur after the the U.S. President holds talks with the Georgian leadership in the Parliament building.


Separate talks with President Mikheil Saakashvili and Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze are planned.


Together with Nino Burjanadze, a group of parliamentarians will also meet President Bush. The leader of the opposition New Rights parliamentary faction Davit Gamkrelidze will also be among those parliamentarians meeting with the U.S. President.


Bush will also meet representatives of the country’s civil society and ethnic minorities and then head to the Freedom Square, which is just a couple of hundreds meters from the Parliament building.
