Saakashvili: We Want Good Relations with Russia

President Saakashvili said on March 29 that Georgian-Russian relations should be based on ?mutual respect.?

?We want good relations with Russia. But good relations with Russia should be based on [the principle] that we will not have imperialistic relations? We want respect, a mutual respect [in our relationship with Russia]? and it will happen gradually, this is irreversible. [Russian Foreign Minister Sergey] Lavrov has said several times that [Russia is] accustomed to the fact that Georgia and Ukraine are not directly in this sphere of influence any more,? Saakashvili said at a news conference on Tuesday.
