Student Movement ?Enough? Gains Momentum

(Tbilisi. April 22, 2003. Civil Georgia) – In the wake of organizing anti-governmental rally, students? movement Kmara (?Enough? in Georgian) painted streets and some governmental buildings of the central avenues of the capital city Tbilisi with the word Kmara.

?This was a massage sent to the government that we are here and we will resist its undemocratic steps,? Tea Tutberidze, student and activist of Kmara movement told Civil Georgia.

On April 14 about 200 students marched from Tbilisi State University to the State Chancellery, chanting their slogan ?Kmara? (?Enough?) and demanding resignation of the ‘corrupt government’ and the President.

Today several members of the Kmara movement and the students of the Tbilisi State University (TSU) appealed the court protesting against, as they claim ?communist and authoritarian-style election? of the Rector of TSU Roin Metreveli on April 21.
