Reformers Say President should Restrict His Relatives’ Illegal Business
(Tbilisi. December 27. Civil Georgia) – The Movement for Democratic Reforms faction member Koba Davitashvili stated today that the President should seek for additional funds for the budget on behalf of his relatives involved in smuggling of cigarette and fuel.
Reformers team as well as other MPs criticized draft of the 2002 state budget. They said that the presented budget supported corruption.
The Parliament is to discuss the draft at the special plenary session in the evening on December 27.
President Shevardnadze stated on December 26 at the government meeting that there is no sufficient amount in the budget to increase salaries to state workers.
