Georgia Makes Progress in World Corruption Table
Georgia is ranked 99th in a 2006 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) issued by the corruption watchdog Transparency International on November 6.
CPI is a composite index that draws on multiple expert opinion surveys that poll perceptions of public sector corruption in 163 countries around the world.
Georgia was ranked 130th among 159 nations surveyed in a similar report by Transparency International last year.
Moldova and Armenia, respectively ranked 79th and 93rd in the 2006 CPI, have the best rating among CIS countries.
