Governmental Commission Set up to Study Quitting CIS

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said on May 10 that a governmental commission has been set up to estimate the possible consequences of Georgia’s withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“We will hold meetings weekly and periodically submit information about our conclusions. The Foreign Ministry is already implementing relevant activities. We will also continue working with our partners from the CIS over this issue,” PM Nogaideli, who chairs the commission, said at a news briefing after the government session.
