U.S.-Based Company to Bid for Batumi Port Management
New-York-based Eastwind Maritime Inc. will participate in a competition announced by the Georgian Economy Ministry for transfer of 100% of the shares of the Batumi port in the Adjara Autonomous Republic for management for 49 years, the Georgian PM Zurab Nogaideli?s press office reported.
PM Nogaideli met with Eastwind Maritime?s executive on May 4 in London on the sidelines of the business forum Invest in Georgia.
The initial bid price set by the Economy Ministry in April for the Batumi Sea Trading Port Ltd is USD 35 million. The deadline for submitting bids expires on May 12, 2006.
