Putin Appoints New Chief Negotiator for Georgia

Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed the Foreign Ministry?s special envoy Valery Kenyaikin as Russia?s chief negotiator during talks with Georgia over military issues. The latter replaced Igor Savolsky, the Russian Foreign Ministry?s special envoy for CIS affairs. 
 
According to the Russian President?s press office, Valery Kenyaikin was also appointed as Chairman of the State Commission for preparation of the Agreement between Russia and Georgia on Friendship, Good Neighborhood, Cooperation and Mutual Security.
