New Governors Appointed

The new leadership appointed Irakli Okruashvili as Shida Kartli region?s governor and Zurab Melikishvili as the governor of the Kvemo Kartli region.

Both of them are the members of the National Movement, led by Mikheil Saakashvili, who runs for presidential elections scheduled for January 4.

All the regional governors filed resignation after Eduard Shevardnadze stepped down on November 23.
