Security Chief Concerned with Alarming Increase of Drug Dealings

(Tbilisi, February 9, Civil Georgia) – Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania stated that the international criminal groups are more and more interested in Georgia for drug trafficking.

At the government’s meeting on February 9 Khaburdzania stated that criminal-ridden Pankisi gorge remains the main region from where the drug is distributed through Georgia.

However the Minister denied that there is a drug producing facility in Pankisi gorge.

Breakaway region of Abkhazia is another main center of distributing drugs, Khaburdzania stated.
