Georgian, Estonian FMs Hold Phone Talk
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Estonian counterpart Urmas Reinsalu held a phone conversation on January 11 to discuss “fruitful cooperation” between the two countries.
FM Darchiashvili tweeted that the sides focused on the importance of Estonia’s unwavering support for Georgia’s European aspirations. “We also highlighted the significance of granting Georgia the EU candidate status,” he added.
Estonian FM Urmas Reinsalu wrote on Twitter that the two diplomats discussed stopping Russia’s war in Ukraine and needed aid to Ukraine.
He also noted that he expressed concern over the health of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili and called on the Georgian government to give opportunity for his treatment abroad.
