Tskhinvali Authorities Adopt 2018 Budget
“The 2018 state budget of South Ossetia,” adopted by the region’s legislature on December 19, sets the overall budgetary revenues at RUB 7.67 billion (USD 130.8 million), of which RUB 6.6 billion (USD 112.4 million) or 85.9 percent of the total revenues, is to be funded by the Russian Federation.
RUB 4.5 billion (USD 76.7 million) of Moscow’s funding will be spent “on social-economic development,” while the remaining RUB 2.1 billion (USD 35.7 million) on “the investment program.”
The region’s own income is projected to constitute RUB 1.1 billion (USD 18.4 million) in 2018.
The region’s budget for 2017 amounts to RUB 8.1 billion (USD 138 million), of which RUB 7.3 billion (USD 123 million) was transferred from Moscow. RUB 4.2 billion (USD 71.5 million) of Russian subsidies is to be spent for the region’s “socio economic development,” while the remaining RUB 3 billion (USD 52.2 million) will be used for implementing “the investment program.”
