Cote d’Ivoire Honorary Consul Arrested in Georgia

Georgian police arrested Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire to Georgia Ermile Tortladze for illegal drug trade charges, Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili said at a news conference on August 26.

He said that more than two hundred pills of subotex worth USD 25,000 were seized in Tortladze?s office.  
 
Merabishvili called on society to help the police fight against drug trade and reiterated that the Interior Ministry offers 1,000 Lari (USD 555) for valuable information leading to the capture of drug dealers.

?We have already received some tips through our hot line and currently we are checking this information,? Merabishvili said.
