Defense Minister Visits Georgian Troops in Afghanistan
Defense Minister, Levan Izoria, is visiting Afghanistan, where he met Georgian soldiers at the Bagram Air Field on August 27.
This is Izoria’s first foreign trip since becoming the Defense Minister on August 1.

With 861 soldiers Georgia is the third largest troop contributor to NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan after the United States (7,006 troops) and Germany (980 troops).
The Georgian troops, whose duties focus on security and rapid reaction force, are deployed in Kabul; at the Bagram Air Field, and Camp Marmal in Mazar-i-Sharif.
