Geostat: Annual Inflation 6.3% in November
Georgia’s annual inflation accelerated to 6.3% in November from 5.8% previous month, the highest rate since August 2011.
Annual inflation was driven mainly by increasing prices on alcoholic beverages and cigarettes (13.4%); household maintenance and equipment (12.9%); healthcare (11.5%), according to figure released by the state statistics office on December 3.
Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 5.2 year-on-year in November.
Increased electricity bill pushed annual inflation in housing, water and energy group to 9.2% in November.
Prices in transport group were down by 1.6% y/y in November.
On monthly basis prices rose 0.3% in November, according to Geostat.
