Gov’t Reports 13% Increase of Tax Revenues in Q1
2010 first quarter revenues reached GEL 1.13 billion, 13% up from 2009 first quarter, the Georgian government said.
“The trend is expected to continue throughout the year,” the government said in a press release on Monday, adding that it forecasts total tax revenues for 2010 to reach GEL 4.4 billion.
In the 2010 state budget, passed by the Parliament in December, targeted 2010 tax revenue is set at GEL 4.38 billion.
Tax revenues were GEL 4.26 billion in 2009; GEL 4.54 billion in 2008 and GEL 3.7 billion in 2007, according to the Finance Ministry.
