Georgian PM, EU Foreign Policy Chief Meet in Brussels
Georgian Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili met with EU foreign policy chief, Javier Solana in Brussels on December 1 to discuss the latest developments in Georgia and EU-Georgia relations.
“Mr. Solana noted the positive development of bilateral relations between the EU and Georgia. He encouraged the Prime Minister to develop these relations further and make good use of the support the EU was providing,” Solana’s press office reported.
Solana also underlined the importance of the Geneva talks and of a constructive approach from all sides.
PM Mgaloblishvili said that Georgia, in light of the global financial crisis, would benefit greatly from the generous amounts pledged at the donors conference in October, and expressed Georgia’s commitment to the continuation of the Geneva talk, according to the report.
International donors at the Brussels conference pledged a total of USD 4.5 billion for Georgia.
