Georgia Qualifies Presidential Convoy Shots as Terrorism
Georgia has launched criminal investigation into the shooting incident that occurred when a motorcade carrying the Georgian and Polish Presidents approached the South Ossetian administrative border, formally qualifying the case as “terrorism,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement on November 24.
“Shots were fired from the Russian checkpoint located at the village of Odzisi in the Akhalgori district,” the Georgian Interior Ministry said. “That checkpoint, which is located in the heart of the Georgian territory, represents the violation of the six-point ceasefire agreement and is a symbol of Georgia’s occupation by Russia.”
