Putin Speaks of Removing Border with S. Ossetia

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that Russia should foster close economic integration with South Ossetia and remove administrative barriers on the border with the breakaway region.

“It will be sufficient today if we assist in the economic reconstruction of South Ossetia and actually remove the border between Russia and this republic,” Interfax news agency quoted Putin as saying. 

He also said that a number of new agreements will be concluded in this respect, which will “defend Russia’s interests in terms of the security of its state borders and allow people to communicate freely, without any administrative barriers.”
