Putin Warns Georgia over S.Ossetia
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on August 8 that Georgia’s “aggressive actions” in South Ossetia may trigger retaliatory measures.
“It is regrettable that on the day before the opening of the Olympic Games, the Georgian authorities have undertaken aggressive actions in South Ossetia,” Putin was quoted by AFP as saying in Beijing. “They have in effect begun hostilities, using tanks and artillery. It is sad, but this will provoke retaliatory measures.”
