Abkhaz, South Ossetian Leaders Visit Moscow
Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh left for Moscow on July 10 to discuss the opening of a representation of the Russian Foreign Ministry in the breakaway region, Abkhaz Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba told RIA Novosti news agency.
“Bagapsh is expected to hold meetings at the Russian Foreign Ministry to discuss the situation in the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict zone, as well as the opening of a Russian Foreign Ministry representation in Abkhazia,” Shamba said.
Meanwhile, Interfax news agency reported on July 10 that Bagapsh would hold consultations with Russian officials, as well as with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity, who is also visiting Moscow.
“We will discuss the current situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia with South Ossetian President Kokoity,” Bagapsh told Interfax news agency.
