Russia Denies its Citizen was Injured in Sokhumi Blast
The Russian Foreign Ministry said no Russian citizen was among six persons injured in two explosions in the Abkhaz capital Sokhumi on June 30.
Interfax news agency reported quoting Abkhaz officials that one Russian holiday-maker was slightly wounded.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement it was “seriously concerned” with the explosions that occurred in Sokhumi and Gagra on June 30 and June 29, respectively.
“According to the information received [from Abkhazia] there are no Russian holiday-makers among the injured,” it said. “The authorities of the republic [referring to Abkhazia] are undertaking measures aimed at providing security for local residents and holiday-makers.”
