Burjanadze Says She has no Plans to Run for MP

Nino Burjanadze, the former parliamentary chairperson, said she had no plans to run for a majoritarian MP seat.

“I have no desire to run for the majoritarian MP seat or to hold any post. My priority now is the [planned] Foundation,” Burjanadze said in an interview with Rustavi 2 TV.

The full version of the interview will be aired late on June 21.

By-elections will be held this autumn in two Tbilisi single-mandate constituencies – Didube and Vake – as the two majoritarian MPs from those constituencies – the New Rights Party’s Davit Saganelidze and Davit Gamkrelidze – have renounced their MP mandates.
