Georgian Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Secretary of State

Georgian Foreign Minister Eka Tkeshelashvili met with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Stockholm on May 29 to discuss the bilateral relations, as well as the conflict resolution issues.

Tkeshelashvili told reporters after the meeting that the conversation was “very constructive.”

In Stockholm both Rice and Tkeshelashvili participated in annual international conference International Compact with Iraq, dedicated to the contribution made by the international community to Iraqi development.

“Despite of a tight schedule, Ms. Rice found time to hold a rather long meeting today,” Tkeshelashvili said.

In frames of her visit, the Georgian Foreign Minister also held talks with her Swedish counterpart Karl Bildt.
