Saakashvili in Ukraine for Energy Summit

President Saakashvili arrived in Kiev on May 23 to participate in the Energy Security Summit.

Presidents of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, as well as EU’s energy commissioner Andris Piebalgs are among participants of the summit.

The presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine signed a joint declaration last May at a summit in Krakow calling for increased cooperation in transporting oil and gas from Central Asia to Europe via the South Caucasus.
