Deadline for Rechecking Voter Lists Extended

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has decided to extend a deadline for rechecking the voter lists from May 5 to May 9.

The opposition has been demanding extension of the deadline.
 
As a result of the decision voters will be able to recheck themselves in the list within three more days and apply to the election administrations in case of revealing any inaccuracies. Those, who were not in the list, will not be able to cast ballots, as registration on the election day has been cancelled.

After the deadline changes in the voter lists will only be possible through the decision of the court.

CEC said on May 3 there were 3,461,851 eligible voters.
