New Chairman of Tbilisi City Council Elected

Zaal Samadashvili, a writer, was unanimously elected as the new chairman of the Tbilisi City Council on April 11.

This position has been vacant since previous chairman, Zaza Begashvili was appointed as Georgian ambassador to China.

Prior to becoming a member of the Sakrebulo in autumn 2006, Samadashvili was a director of one of the secondary schools in Tbilisi.
