Blast Injures Two in S.Ossetia

Two men, a peacekeeper from Russia’s North Ossetian peacekeeping battalion and a South Ossetian security service agent, were badly wounded when their car exploded on March 23, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.

The breakaway region’s state security committee (KGB) said the explosion, which occurred near the village of Okona in the Znauri district, was masterminded by the Georgian security services. The Georgian side has denied the allegation.

The breakaway region’s security service also said that the target of the attack was one of its agent, Inal Kolyev. Kolyev, according to the secessionist authorities, infiltrated the Georgian secret services and helped uncover a terrorist plot aimed at civilians and officials in Tskhinvali last year.
