Saakashvili, Medvedev Hold Phone Conversation

President Saakashvili congratulated Russian President-elect Dimitry Medvedev on his election by phone on March 5, Itar-Tass, Interfax and RIA Novosti news agencies reported.

“Dimitry Medvedev expressed his hope that despite lost opportunities by Georgia in the past, it would be possible to build constructive dialogue in keeping with genuinely neighborly relations between Russia and Georgia,” the Medvedev administration said. “Both sides expressed a readiness for cooperation and for maintaining regular contact.”
