NATO Diplomats Visit Georgia
The Estonian, Latvian, Polish, Italian and German ambassadors to NATO arrived in Georgia on February 13. They have already met Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze.
“The possibility of joining NATO Membership Action Plan [MAP]; recent political developments; ongoing dialogue with the opposition and upcoming parliamentary elections were discussed during the meeting,” MP Nino Nakashidze, who chairs the parliamentary committee for Euro-Atlantic integration issues, told Civil.Ge.
MP Nakashidze, who attended the meeting with the NATO diplomats, said Georgia might not receive an invitation to join MAP at the NATO summit in Bucharest this April. She, however, added: “The issue has not yet been decided.”
