Tbilisi Plans Distribution of Allowances in S.Ossetia
Residents of the Georgian-controlled enclaves in breakaway South Ossetian conflict zone will receive one-time pecuniary aid of GEL 100 (about USD 58), President Saakashvili said at the government?s session on January 31.
?Everyone should know that I will personally oversee the situation in Didi Liakhvi and Patara Liakhvi [gorges where the Georgian villages are located in South Ossetia],? Saakashvili said.
The Tbilisi-backed alternative authorities of the breakaway region, which are based in the Georgian village of Kurta, announced that they plan to launch a project in the region to foster small and medium sized business development. The Kurta-based officials said details of the project will be unveiled soon.
