Tskhinvali Says Polls Valid
The Central Election Commission of breakaway South Ossetia said its independence referendum is valid with a 64% voter turnout reported four hours before polling stations closed.
According to the guidelines set by the de facto authorities, more than 50% of voters must cast ballots for the referendum to be considered valid.
The Eredvi-based Central Election Commission said that over 50% of voters have already cast ballots in alternative presidential elections and referendum.
