Russia Protests over Georgian Official’s ‘Rude Statement’

The Russian Foreign Ministry convened Georgian Ambassador to Russia Irakli Chubinishvili on April 26 to express protest regarding “the rude statement made by one of the Georgian top officials towards Russia.”

Although the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information note does not specify to whom it refers as “Georgian top official,” it is most likely that the protest concerns to a recent statement made by Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili.

While speaking about wine row with Russia Okruashvili said on April 20 that “even if you export – excuse me for this expression – feces to Russia it can be sold there.”
