Government Plans to Increase Budgetary Expenditures
The Georgian government will request that the Parliament approve amendments to the 2006 state budget that envisage the increase of expenditures by GEL 162 million (USD 89 million), according to the Georgian Prime Minister’s press office.
This increase of expenditures are made possible as a result of tax and non-tax revenues which have increased by GEL 48.1 million (USD 26.6 million) and GEL 41.5 million (USD 22.9 million), respectively.
According to the Finance Ministry, the remaining GEL 72 million is a holdover from the 2005 state budget.
