Venice Commission to Discuss S.Ossetia Restitution Document
The Council of Europe’s (CoE) advisory body for constitutional issues – Venice Commission will discuss Georgia’s draft law on property restitution to the victims of the South Ossetian conflict during its plenary session on March 17-18, the CoE reported.
Georgian Justice Minister Gia Kavtaradze will participate in the discussions.
“The [Venice] Commission will adopt its opinion on the restitution of property to the victims of the South Ossetian conflict. Based on comments of several experts and on exchanges of views with Georgian authorities, South Ossetian NGOs and international organisations present in Georgia, this opinion follows a visit to the country in February this year,” according to the CoE press release.
