Georgia Bans Live Poultry Trade
Trade in live poultry products has been banned on the entire territory of Georgia, Agriculture Minister Mikheil Svimonishvili said on February 24.
This decision comes after a potential case of bird flu was detected in the Adjara Autonomous Republic, at the border with Turkey.
The Agriculture Minister told reporters that the Interior Ministry will be responsible to enforce this ban on poultry trade.
