WB Approves USD 5 Million Grant for Georgia

The World Bank approved a USD 5 million grant for Infrastructure Pre-Investment Facility (IPF) Project for Georgia on February 16, the World Bank reported.

This project will facilitate infrastructure investments that have strategic importance by ensuring that proper feasibility work is carried out in a timely manner in order to enable the government to make sound investment decisions.

The IPF Project has two major components:  (1) Technical Assistance for the Khudoni Hydropower Project Preparation, and (2) Technical Assistance for Preparation of Transit Corridor Projects.

Georgia joined the World Bank in 1993. Since then, the commitments to the country total approximately USD 816 million for 40 operations.
