Official: Five Days Needed to Restore Gas Supplies to Tbilisi

Giorgi Gvichiani, a top executive of Tbilgazi – the gas distribution company in Tbilisi – said on January 30 that gas supplies will be resumed to 80% of Tbilisi consumers within three days, while full restoration of gas supplies in the capital is expected in five days.

This recent statement by Gvichiani differs from earlier vows by the authorities to restore the gas supply to all of Tbilisi by Monday.

Officials also say that it will take a week to restore the gas supply to all the regions of Georgia.
