Reports: Abkhaz, S.Ossetian Leaders Visit Moscow

President of breakaway South Ossetian Eduard Kokoity is in Moscow and Abkhaz leader Sergey Bagapsh is expected to arrive in the Russian capital on Friday, the Russian news agencies Interfax and RIA Novosti reported.

Interfax also reported quoting an unnamed “source in the Russian capital” that a meeting between Bagapsh, Kokoity and breakaway Transdnestrian leader Igor Smirnov is expected to take place in Moscow.

But RIA Novosti reported quoting Foreign Minister of breakaway South Ossetia Murat Jioyev as saying that a meeting between Kokoity and Bagapsh is not planned in Moscow.

“This might take place later – it is early to talk about it,” Jioyev told RIA Novosti in a telephone interview on January 27.
