The Advocacy Conference
On May 21, 2005 at 1O:00 AM at Sheraton Metekhi Palace Save the Children with its local partner organizations the Caucasian Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development, Center for Change and Conflict Management – Partners Georgia, United Nations Association of Georgia, Civil Development Center “Alternative”, Civil Society Institute and Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia will hold an Advocacy Conference. The Conference is organized within the frame of a three-year Citizens Advocate! Program funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Citizens Advocate! Program aims to improve the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and create an enabling environment so that CSOs can promote citizens’ interests and effectively advocate their cause.
The Conference aims to present major achievements of the programs including outcomes of the advocacy projects implemented by Civic Participation grantees (CPGs), results of the communication campaigns with business sector, government, youth and the general public. At the same time the Conference will focus on future developments and maintenance of the advocacy initiative through CAP successor – Civic Initiative Center (CIC), a registered coalition of CAP six local implementing partners.
More than 35 regional and Tbilisi based organizations from 8 CPG coalitions and CAP direct implementing partners will participate in the Conference.
The Advocacy Conference will be attended by Nick Higgins and Keti Bakradze from USAID Democracy and Governance Unit, representatives from international organizations, and business community.
