Lavrov Threatens to Pull out from Talks with Georgia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said he “hopes” Russia will not have to walk out from the talks over the withdrawal of military bases from Georgia.
“I hope that all the rather emotional screams [from Georgia] will get the contours of the real policy and we will not have to leave the talking table,” RIA Novosti quotes Lavrov.
This recent, harsh reaction from Russian officials comes after Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze reiterated the Georgian Parliament’s resolve to implement a March decision to outlaw the Russian bases if no agreement is reached by May 15.
