Georgian National Security Council Discusses Russian Bases

President Saakashvili convened a session of the National Security Session on May 7 to discuss negotiations between the Georgian and Russian Foreign Ministers, held in Moscow on May 6, which failed to make a breakthrough in talks over the withdrawal of the Russian military bases from Batumi and Akhalkalaki, the Georgian media reported.

Saakashvili is expected to make a statement about this issue later on May 7 at a press conference.
