Saakashvili: Georgia on Right Foreign Policy Path

President Saakashvili reiterated, in an interview with Rustavi 2 television on April 3, that Georgia?s current foreign policy success is of historic importance, as Georgia has transformed from, as he put it, ?a fact into a foreign policy factor.?

?We are now on the right path. We have a historic chance to make a breakthrough from Georgia?s centuries-old political and geopolitical damnation and take the place which belongs to us ? in European civilization,? Saakashvili said.

He stressed the upcoming visit of U.S. President George W. Bush, scheduled for May 10, and said that ?this visit is of historic importance and fits well into the context of the geopolitical revolution, which is taking place in Georgia and outside of Georgia, with the active participation of Georgia.?
